Formero's rapid turnkey solution for Moulded Parts

The Better Health Group were looking to upgrade their Patient Entertainment bedside terminals by mounting a Biometric  thumb  print scanner directly to the side of a patients entertainment and clinical applications touch screen.  Better Health contacted Andrew Berry of Berry Design, an industrial design consultancy based in Melbourne, to 3D laser scan and design it to fit their terminals. 

Better Health required 200 moulded sets of parts to be supplied within 3 weeks, as the units had to be installed to existing touch screens at the hospital during the Easter break.

Can't be done?  Or can it.  It is amazing what can be achieved when all the stars are aligned, as they were in this case study.

Using 3D laser scanning and 3D CAD, Andrew Berry designed the various components of the part  in CAD.   Objet 3D prototype parts were then made by  Formero and supplied to the client for approval and fitted to the existing displays.  The prototype parts fitted perfectly first time, so designs were then sent directly to Formero China who used its 'Parts Only' service to create the tool and mould the 200 plastic parts.

Incredibly, Berry Design and Formero managed to design and manufacture 200 quality injection moulds all within a 3 week turnaround. This fantastic service enabled us to deliver a hospital contract over the Easter break with minimal disruption. Truly unbelievable!!
